HOW TO TAKE A PUNCH
How to Take a Punch is a short film currently in post-production. The film follows Samson, a small town boxer as he navigates his masculinity and how it intersects with his boxing career.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT
This project was shot in Savannah, GA in February 2024. We shot a portion of this project on 16mm film, a portion of this project on an XR volume stage, and shot for a total of 6 days and 6 locations.

The Director of Photography on this project, Charles Hoy, was also the Executive Producer which informed a very visual approach to making this film. We wanted to create a boxing film that contradicted the stereotypical look and feel of a boxing film; through this, we may be able to contradict some of the ideas of masculinity that those films promote.
